7.6 Java Runtime

For Java Runtime, the required Java VM’s version differs depending on a user application. Therefore Java

Runtime is not installed before shipment. When using Java Runtime with Web terminal so on, be careful with

the following things and install following the procedure.

 Download procedure

URL:http://java.sun.com/j2se/

From the J2SE 1.4.2 in the Popular Downloads in the URL above, select Download J2SE JRE and download

JRE.

Use the Java Runtime with the version corresponding to the used application.

The version which finished a checking of operations is “1.4.2.10”.

 Installation procedure

In order to decrease the capacity of the module to be installed, install on custom mode.

When the language support is unnecessary, install only “Java 2 Runtime Environment”.

• The following URL may be changed. For details, please check Sun Microsystems’s site.

• Before installing Java Runtime, disable the Write Filter setting. When the Write Filter is effec-

tive, the installation is not reflected.
